Liverpool play their second home game on the spin as they catch up with the fixture list that saw them play a succession of away games due to the building of their new main stand.

There is still quite a bit to do off the pitch as the changing rooms still need finishing and corridors need plastering but there is no doubt it's an impressive piece of engineering and gives Liverpool a home they are fully worthy of.

On the pitch the training round routines are going to be based around beating a six man defence. If you knew that you can go to Anfield and defend and come away with a point what would you do?

There's always the chance of getting all three points if you manage to get a few corners and put the Liverpool goalie under pressure. Whichever one they pick.

Possession stats for this team are going through the roof. Giving Manchester United only 35% of the ball on Monday night and their lowest amount of time on the ball since the Premier League was formed. Against Burnley Liverpool had over 80% possession. Over 80%.

Never mind the fact that they lost that game because 9 times out of 10 they would win it. There will always be games where freak goals settle the match and Liverpool seem to specialise in them.

In the match build up Klopp claimed that there are no injury worries to speak of which is excellent news and it means a return to a front three of Coutinho, Firminho and Mane with Lallana, Henderson and Wijnaldum providing the midfield support. Daniel Sturridge must wonder what happened because one minute he was Liverpool's saviour and the next Klopp arrived.

With no European football and just the Cup matches to pepper midweek Klopp can start his strongest team every match and it's going to be difficult for players to force their way into the match day squad, never mind the starting eleven. It's a total reversal of fortunes from last season when the under 18's were making up a good portion of the League Cup squad.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis is Liverpool's nemesis and he has consistently pulled off a smash and grab with either Stoke, Palace or his current club and it's not going to be difficult to work out his game plan - defend in numbers and hope to sneak a goal from a set piece.

The stage is set then for the next evolutionary stage of Klopp's Liverpool. Learning how to pick the lock instead of trying to smash the door down is what his side need to learn now and if they can do that as well as keep another clean sheet they should win this game.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp:

"Nobody will go through [the Premier League] and have at the end 120 points or something because there are a lot of difficult hurdles to jump over and West Brom is, for sure, one of them. They fight for every point.
"I respect them all and I showed it last year when we played West Brom.
"I celebrated the point and it was a little bit surprising for most people, but I was happy."

West Brom Head Coach Tony Pulis:

"We know Liverpool is going to be a really tough game. Their front five are exceptional.
"Jurgen Klopp is passionate and that is important in the game and important for Liverpool. They've got a good chance this year.
"The games that are coming up are difficult but ones we should embrace. Anfield is wonderful."

This fixture last season ended in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool managing to snatch a point at the death and Klopp's much derided celebration in front of the Kop.

There really is nothing to moan about. Liverpool are playing the best football I've seen them play since Dalglish was in charge the first time around and it's wonderful to watch. It's galling though to watch the opposition keeper routinely bring out their best performance of the season at Anfield.

Liverpool have gone six league matches without defeat and are unbeaten in 11 Premier League games at Anfield (W6, D5).

The Reds have only failed to score in two of their 18 Premier League home games under Jurgen Klopp.
Monday's goalless draw with Manchester United was Liverpool's first clean sheet in the league this season.

The Baggies have won just one of their last 10 away matches in the league (D6, L3).

Albion have only scored more than once in one of their last 18 league games (4-2 v West Ham in September).
